  • America: History & Life [No username and password required; site will ask you to register.]
    Includes information running from 1964 to the present on articles, books, book reviews and dissertations on American and Canadian history from pre-history to the present with links to full-text articles from select journals. Fact sheet from ABC-CLIO (PDF).

  • Historical Abstracts [No username and password required; site will ask you to register.]
    With information on publications dating back to 1954, including journal articles, books, book reviews and dissertations, Historical Abstracts covers non-U.S. and non-Canadian History from 1450 to the present. Full-text is available for select journals. Fact sheet from ABC-CLIO (PDF).

  • Linguistics and Language Behavior Abstracts (LLBA)

  • Philosopher's Index

  • Sociological Abstracts Plus
    Abstracts and indexes sociological literature from 1963 to the present and covers subjects such as culture and social structure, evaluation research, history and theory of sociology, methodology and research technology, rural and urban sociology, social psychology and group interaction, and substance abuse and addiction.   • GLBT Complete
    Described by Ebsco as "the definitive index to the world's literature regarding gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender issues." The database was designed not to duplicate content in Academic Search Premier. A multidisciplinary database, GLBT Complete includes periodical literature, reference material, newspapers, dissertations, statues and conference proceedings. Fact Sheet from EBSCO.

  • INSPEC (Technical Package Add-on)
    Includes the computer science and engineering databases: INSPEC, Computer Science Index, Computer Source (Consumer Edition), Information Science and Technology Abstracts, and Internet and Personal Computing Abstracts. INSPEC Fact Sheet, Fact sheets on other databases, from EBSCO.

  • PsycBooks
    New from the American Psychological Association (APA) PsycBooks contains full-text (in PDF format) from about 500 APA titles running from 1953 to 2003. Fact Sheet from EBSCO.

  • PsycExtra
    Containing "gray" literature from the psychological field consisting of technical reports, annual reports, newsletters, magazines, newspapers and consumer brochures. With 45,000 records PsycExtra is the companion resource to the APA's PsycINFO. Fact Sheet from EBSCO.


  • Gale Virtual Reference Library
    Offers more than 85 reference sources, such as encyclopedias and almanacs, and covers a variety of subjects including art, business, government, literature, philosophy, the social sciences and history. Fact sheet from Gale, Title list.

  • Opposing Viewpoints
    Covering current social debates this database provides in-depth articles from proponents and detractors as well as factual information from statistics, government data and legislation on a wide variety of topics. Fact Sheet from Gale.

  • Testing & Education Reference Center
    Covers information related to private schools, undergraduate and graduate programs. The resource is searchable by location, tuition and major.   • XRefer Plus

  • Hoover's Academic
    (Sign in at the top of the screen) Information on over 12 million companies, including descriptions, key numbers and officers, history, major competitors, products and operations as well as coverage of 40,000 leading business enterprises from around the world.


  • Criminal Justice Periodicals Index
    Convers criminal justice fields, including corrections administration, law enforcement, social work, industrial security, drug rehabilitation, and criminal and family law. Offers ASCII text, image, and Text+Graphics coverage for about 50 of the titles most frequently accessed by criminal justice researchers.   • Computing Journals
    Abstracts and indexing from 1986 to the present for over 260 journals with full-text coverage for approximately 240 publications including Computerworld, InfoWorld, Computer Reseller News and PC World. Fact Sheet from ProQuest

  • Dissertations and Theses (Abstracts & Indexing only)
    Definitive guide to more than 2 million doctoral dissertations and masterís theses. Each dissertation published since July 1980 includes a 350-word abstract written by the author. Master's theses published since 1988 include 150-word abstracts.
